The recent lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic set the stage for a regional conversation on global health security. Convened by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Jumuiya Ya Kaunti Za Pwani, the East Africa Region Global Health Security Summit (EARGHSS) 2025 will convene a diverse group of stakeholders and serve as a road map for countries across East Africa to work together to facilitate preparedness and response for pandemics and bioterrorism, bolster biosecurity, strengthen health systems, advance health equity, and accelerate innovative health technologies.
