STAT’s 2024 Breakthrough Summit West will provide opportunities to engage in conversation about what the next two decades will bring in medicine. The summit will allow attendees to join in on high-level, interactive sessions that will peer into the mists, looking at GLP-1 drugs for psychiatry, a new age of individualized gene editing, and the potential of artificial intelligence to reduce the failure rate of inventing new medicines.

ICT4D: Learning Carousel, Digital Development in Ghana

The ICT4D Conference explores how Information Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) and data innovations are making a measurable difference in millions of peoples’ lives and increasing the impact of humanitarian relief, development, and conservation programs. The conference works to advance global knowledge exchange and build capacity on ICT4D and digital development to drive more impactful use of technology for good by facilitating knowledge exchange on best practices and innovations, creating inclusive spaces for cross-sectoral learning and capacity-building, and fostering partnerships in ICT4D among local and international actors (NGOs, governments, private sector organizations, research institutions, and funders).

Innovations in Digitizing Distribution of Health Products: Current Trends in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya & Uganda | July 20, 2022

The Bay Area Global Health Alliance, Salient Advisory, and Alliance member Population Services International examined the findings of Salient’s recently released market intelligence report on commercially-driven innovations in health care supply chains in Africa. The report results from a longitudinal study of more than 80 digital health innovators in African health technology ecosystems. Findings from innovating early-stage start-ups to established companies like mPharma inform the report, which highlights key trends shaping the growth and impact of digitized distribution in health across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda.

“This year’s World Health Assembly represents a pivotal moment to advance policy reforms to deliver a more fit-for-purpose, equitable research and development (R&D) ecosystem,” stated the Global Health Technologies Coalition.
