Join North Carolina Global Health Alliance for their 10th annual Global Health Conference.

This event will take place on November 1, 2023 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. At this year’s event, North Carolina Global Health Alliance’s community will come together to evaluate what it means to have Resilience in the Global Health Ecosystem. Through this theme, the event will reflect on the key elements to expanding global health partnerships, adapting the way we work, and deepening community relationships in the face of an ever-evolving global health landscape.

International Humanitarian Surgical Skills Course

Join Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health for their International Humanitarian Surgical Skills course. The course will help prepare international humanitarian volunteers for delivering surgical care in a low resource setting for treatment of common surgical and obstetric conditions. The 1 ½ day course will provide an overview of the scope of conditions that one might encounter in resource- limited environments. The course is intended for physicians and advanced practice providers with pre-existing surgical/procedural skills: surgery, emergency medicine, family medicine, and OBGYN.

Last week Sara Anderson, Executive Director of the Alliance, was honored to be part of the White House Roundtable on AI and Health. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy convened a distinguished group of leaders from across sectors to discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) can be safely deployed to improve health outcomes, with a special breakout session on the use of AI to improve public health and global health. To prepare for the meeting, the Alliance sought input from our multi-sector members and key stakeholders on what three-four points they would make if they were at the table.
