ICT4D: Learning Carousel, Digital Development in Ghana
The ICT4D Conference explores how Information Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) and data innovations are making a measurable difference in millions of peoples’ lives and increasing the impact of humanitarian relief, development, and conservation programs. The conference works to advance global knowledge exchange and build capacity on ICT4D and digital development to drive more impactful use of technology for good by facilitating knowledge exchange on best practices and innovations, creating inclusive spaces for cross-sectoral learning and capacity-building, and fostering partnerships in ICT4D among local and international actors (NGOs, governments, private sector organizations, research institutions, and funders).

WHO: Building best in class chatbots – Chatbot Optimization during COVID-19 | October 27, 2021
The World Health Organization held the second webinar of the series “Building best in class chatbots during COVID-19”. Alliance members PATH, Stanford, UNICEF and Sara Anderson, Bay Area Global Health Alliance’s Executive Director, took part in the event. This webinar focused on ways to optimize COVID-19 chatbots while enhancing the AI experience. It explored why it is important to continuously improve the functionality and content of chatbots in order to better respond to the fight against COVID-19.
Bay Area Global Health Alliance 2022 Annual Meeting | May 16, 2022
Global health professionals from academia, NGOs, tech, biotech and other private sector partners gathered for the Alliance’s Annual Meeting on Monday, May 16, at UCSF. Amy Lin, acting director of USAID’s Center for Innovation and Impact, discussed the future of the global health sector in a fireside chat moderated by PHI president and BAGHA board chair Mary Pittman. Their conversation was followed by a series of flash talks on the state of global health financing and investments from representatives from the Hewlett Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation. The meeting concluded with highlights on the state of the Alliance and key partnerships.

The 14th International Rotavirus Symposium will take place March 14-16, 2023 in Bali, Indonesia at the Westin Nusa Dua Hotel. It will bring together interested stakeholders such as Alliance members PATH and Sabin Vaccine Institute to provide an update on new data and relevant research that will inform public health agendas related to prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis.
Microneedles 2023: 7th International Conference on Microneedles
Join Alliance members PATH, Merck, and UNICEF the Microneedles 2023 conference. The International Conference on Microneedles provides a unique international forum for academics and industry involved in the design, development, application and clinical translation of microneedle technology. The conference includes keynote presentations from leaders in the field interspersed with early career researcher presentations and opportunities for networking where researchers at all levels can interact.
76th World Health Assembly | Alliance Members Go to Geneva
“This year’s World Health Assembly represents a pivotal moment to advance policy reforms to deliver a more fit-for-purpose, equitable research and development (R&D) ecosystem,” stated the Global Health Technologies Coalition. To accelerate global health innovation and deliver health for all, they recommend WHO member states “take collective action now to establish more inclusive, globally distributed R&D systems and approaches.” Other Alliance members also attending WHA76 include Baraka Impact Finance, Cross-Border Impact Ventures, Gilead Sciences, Global Health Council, Google, Living Goods, Meta, PATH, Pathfinder International, Pfizer, PSI, ReSurge International, and Viamo.
