With global commitments to universal health coverage by 2030 (UHC2030) and primary health care (PHC) as the approach to achieving sustainable health for all, PATH is hosting an engaging webinar that will consider how HIV services are being included in essential care packages, highlight integration approaches, and convene an expert panel of community representatives, advocates, and funders who will share considerations for designing, implementing, and financing integrated and inclusive HIV-PHC models to ensure long-term sustainability as part of country-specific UHC2030 goals. Panelists include Alliance member Chris Collins, President & CEO of Friends of the Global Fight and moderator Dr. Kimberly Green, Global Director, Primary Healthcare of PATH.

“World health leaders must deploy rapid support and flexible funding to countries affected in Africa to stop mpox from spreading further,” wrote Vanessa Kerry, Seed Global Health.

In response to the mid-August declaration by WHO that mpox is a global emergency, Alliance member organizations are mobilizing.

UNGA 79 and Climate Week | Acting Together to Shape the Development of Our Future, Alliance Members Gather in NYC

In September 2024, the United Nations General Assembly will convene in New York to confront complex global challenges during its 79th session (UNGA 79). Included in the high-level agenda is the Summit of the Future, as well as High-Level Meetings on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the existential threats posed by sea-level rise. In parallel, Climate Week will bring together over 600 events and activities across NYC, with Nature, Food Systems and Health as a key theme. The Bay Area Global Health Alliance and many of its members will be in NYC to take part in the action that is shaping the development of our future.

This session will provide examples of private sector contributions to health systems and provide a space to discuss how to engage the private sector in productive collaborations with other stakeholders that leverage business capabilities to improve health and resilience in low- and middle-income countries and advance Universal Health Coverage.
