Transform Health’s Digital Health Week is a global week of action that brings together politicians, civil society, the private sector and citizens to explore the opportunities and challenges of digital health. This week-long initiative aims to highlight the critical role of digital health in achieving Universal Health Coverage and produce learnings that can steer future discussion on the issue. Now in its fourth year, the week is an open space where organizations and stakeholders can take action, run events and collaborative activities and participants can share their own perspectives, innovative solutions, and practical experiences. The week runs from November 4-10, 2024 and registration for organizers closes on October 15th.

“The ambitious agenda [of Africa CDC’s Digital Transformation Strategy] over such a huge continent cannot be achieved unless every available resource is harnessed. And that can only be done through cross-collaboration partnerships,” said Africa CDC’s Chief Digital Health Adviser, Jean Philbert Nsengimana, at the Bay Area Global Health Alliance annual meeting on June 6. Attending were more than 125 members and guests, both online and in person at UCSF. Alliance board secretary Martin Dale, PSI, spoke with Nsengimana in a fireside chat that explored the rollout of Africa’s new digital partnership and how digital innovations and partnerships can advance health equity on the continent.

On August 8, the Alliance hosted Salient Advisory for a presentation of the key findings, trends, and recommendations outlined in their latest market intelligence report. This report follows Salient Advisory’s pan-African landscaping of nearly 350 digitally-enabled health supply chain innovators. The discussion highlighted challenges and opportunities surrounding scale, partnerships, and access to funding within Africa’s digital health supply chain ecosystem.
