Connecting for innovation and impact for all in global health
The 4th annual Rosenkranz Global Health Policy Research Symposium at Stanford University will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The Symposium is a day-long event that showcases innovative global health policy research from academics around the world. The keynote speaker will be Sir Peter Piot, a prominent leader in global health policy and practice.
After helping discover the Ebola virus in 1976 and leading efforts to contain the first-ever recorded Ebola epidemic that same year, Piot became a pioneering researcher into AIDS. He has held key positions in the United Nations and World Health Organization involving AIDS research and management. He has also served as a professor at several universities worldwide, including the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where he is currently the Handa Professor of Global Health. Piot is the author of more than 600 scientific articles and 16 books, including his memoir, “No Time to Lose: A Life in Pursuit of Deadly Viruses.”
The day-long program will feature in-depth presentations of original global health research. We are soliciting papers from all disciplines for oral presentation, with a particular interest in novel, creative, and thought-provoking research addressing issues of significance to global health. Papers will be selected based on the innovation and rigor of the topic and analysis. Junior scholars are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Symposium is hosted by Stanford Health Policy with support from the Rosenkranz family, and will cover presenters’ travel and logistics.
