Connecting for innovation and equity in global health
In September 2024, the United Nations General Assembly will convene in New York to confront complex global challenges during its 79th session (UNGA 79). The high-level agenda of this year’s UNGA 79 includes the Summit of the Future, which will bring together world leaders and advocates to highlight the importance of multigenerational global cooperation in building a better world for our current and future generations, and for the second time, a High-Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), addressing the threats that AMR poses to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. In parallel, Climate Week will bring together over 600 events and activities across NYC, with Nature, Food Systems and Health as a key theme.
The Bay Area Global Health Alliance will be in NYC, along with Alliance members, Accenture, Americares, Chevron, Connective Impact, Friends of the Global Fight, Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF), Global Health Corps, HealthAI, IDEO.org, Living Goods, Merck for Mothers, Nexleaf, PATH, Pathfinder, Pfizer, Reach Digital Health, Resonance, ReSurge International, Roche, Seed Global Health, Simprints, Watsi and others.
On the sidelines of UNGA 79 and Climate Week, the Alliance will be hosting a Networking Meet Up for Members on Wednesday, September 25 at 4-6:30 PM ET, near Madison Square Park. Register here. Space is limited and members in good standing will be prioritized.
The Alliance is compiling a dynamic list of events, as well as Alliance members who will be in attendance. If you are a member hosting or participating in an event, or you will be in NYC in September, please contact Alyana, alyana@bayareaglobalhealth.org.
