The 2025 Stanford Global Health Conference

March 12 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

The annual Stanford Global Health Conference brings together students and faculty across Stanford’s seven schools, as well as leaders from non-profits, academia, and industry, to deliver and scale innovative solutions for global health challenges. Highlighting student projects from MED232 – Global Health: Scaling Health Technology Innovations in Low Resource Settings, a joint course offering from the Center for Innovation in Global Health and Mussallem Center for Biodesign, the conference will focus on barriers faced by underserved communities in accessing health technologies.
While the course’s central theme is leveraging the power of technology to move the needle in global health outcomes, deploying technology is only part of the story. Promoting new technologies’ long-term, broad, and sustained use is a challenge that requires exploring cultural, economic, and logistical challenges that are far beyond the purview of Stanford’s campus. Students partner with multinational firms like Microsoft and Abbott, global nonprofits like PATH, Foundations like Edwards Lifesciences Foundation and Intuitive Foundation, and Africa-based startups like Maziwa to create specific plans of action to advance these organizations’ most powerful initiatives. The conference offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the work being done by some of the most prominent organizations in global health, and also allows attendees to meet and hear directly from Stanford students who are poised to become the future leaders in health equity and healthcare. The discussions will explore lessons learned from global health communities, including the United States.
