Connecting for innovation and equity in global health
Join the Stanford Mussallem Center for Biodesign, Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, the Bay Area Global Health Alliance, and the Stanford Global Health Club on January 28 for the January session of the 2025 Innovation & Health Equity Discussion Series, “Innovation and Allyship: Case studies from India and the United States.”
This session features Stanford Biodesign Fellows, Charlene Kuo and Ivana Llobet. Charlene Kuo is a Stanford Biodesign Policy Fellow with a community health and patient-centered care background. She will review how policies in the U.S. have historically excluded direct care workers from commonplace worker protections and how she worked with a group of them in Maryland to co-design policy recommendations that reflect their needs. Ivana Llobet is a Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellow with a background in Biomedical Engineering and Design. In her talk, she will reflect on her experience with India’s ostomy-care community, highlighting the importance of “doing more with less for more” and what being a good ally in Global Health means to her.
