East Africa Region Global Health Security Summit (EARGHSS) 2025

January 28 - January 30

The recent lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic set the stage for a regional conversation on global health security. Convened by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Jumuiya Ya Kaunti Za Pwani and planned for 28th to 30th January 2025 at the Prideinn Paradise Beach Resort & Convention Center, Mombasa Kenya, the EARGHSS 2025 will convene a diverse group of stakeholders and serve as a road map for countries across East Africa to work together to facilitate preparedness and response for pandemics and bioterrorism, bolster biosecurity, strengthen health systems, advance health equity, and accelerate innovative health technologies.

EARGHSS 2025 will gather academicians, professionals, policymakers, innovators, and the private sector to share their knowledge and experience, increasing collaboration and cooperation towards greater health security in the region. Placing non-health and non-government sector partners at the table facilitates a whole-of-community approach, drawing into the conversation novel insights as well as extensive resources that reside outside of traditional health security institutions. The conference will also address how technology and innovation can improve global health security and scale resources available to support. Attendees will engage in conversations on developing and advocating for policies that enhance preparedness and response to health emergencies; however, a key focus will be on formulating tangible action plans that will enhance local health system and community ability to address health security threats.
