Connecting for innovation and equity in global health
Join Alliance member CUGH at a webinar on research and action to end neglected tropical diseases.
There are 20 Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) that affect 1.7 billion people, one billion of which are children. Most are poor and live in tropical environments. 170,000 people die from these diseases every year, but many more suffer from severe pain and long-term disability. This has profound health, social, and economic consequences for the individual and the family. However, there is hope. They can be eliminated and 47 countries have eliminated at least one NTD. Treating these diseases is a public health ‘best buy’ and is one of the most important actions that can improve a child’s ability to learn.
Hear from, and pose questions to, an outstanding panel of global experts who will share what we can do to prevent, treat and eliminate these illnesses that affect some of the world’s most under-resourced communities.
