Jeremy Alberga
Jeremy Alberga is Chief Operating Officer of the Bakar Labs, QB3 and Bakar BioEnginuity Hub, UC Berkeley’s innovative approach to bridging the gap between UC students and faculty, life science startups, and established biotech companies.
Until early 2024, he was the Director for Program Development and Strategy within UCSF’s Institute for Global Health Sciences, where he provides strategic advice on a range of issues, including defining areas of future investment, establishing partnerships with external organizations, developing institutional policies, and oversight of administration and operations. Additionally, Jeremy works with senior faculty and staff across campus to stand up new research initiatives, conduct outreach to key donors and funders, and translate trends in the global health landscape into IGHS and UCSF programmatic priorities.
Prior to joining UCSF, Jeremy served in senior leadership positions for Global Viral, University of Washington and Johns Hopkins University in the pandemic preparedness and infectious disease spaces. He holds a master’s degree in international development studies from the George Washington University and a bachelor of arts degree in political science from McGill University.
