Join Alliance member PHI's Lotus Project for the third webinar, 'Promoting Intergenerational Communication & Healing', in their Intergenerational Trauma Among Asian American & Asian Immigrant Communities (Webinar Series). This webinar will explore community and clinical practices that promote effective communication and mutual understanding across AAAIs of different generations, by discussing barriers and benefits of cross-generational communication, learning from success stories of community programs that bring generations together, and exploring culturally sensitive practices that facilitate the healing of AAAI children and families from intergenerational trauma.
EAGxBerkeley 2024 will take place September 7-8, 2024 at Lighthaven in Berkeley, CA. The conference will focus on a diverse range of cause areas, local community building, and knowledge sharing. It will offer networking, workshops, presentations, and small group gatherings for around 500 attendees dedicated to addressing some of the world’s greatest challenges.

The 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) will open on Tuesday, 10 September 2024. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, 24 September 2024. When global leaders meet at the UN, they will confront yet another year of complex crises and conflicts — as a deeply divided world watches. The UN is the only place on Earth where countries — whether big or small — have a say. The debates and conversations that will unfold during UNGA 79 will shape the solutions that can redefine our future. UNGA 79 will also include High-level Meetings on two issues of existential importance: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the global threat of sea-level rise.

This session features speaker Sarah Hooper, JD, Professor of Practice at UC Law San Francisco and Associate Dean of the UCSF-UC Law SF Master of Science in Health Policy & Law. She focuses on health justice, aging, and complex care. She has been involved in clinical interventions like the Medical-Legal Partnership for Seniors Clinic and research projects such as the Dementia Care Ecosystem clinical trial. Sarah has co-developed tools for decision-making among older adults with dementia, including PREPARE and Plan for Clarity.
Effective global cooperation is increasingly critical to our survival but difficult to achieve in an atmosphere of mistrust, using outdated structures that no longer reflect today’s political and economic realities. The Summit of the Future is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future. In September, world leaders will convene at the United Nations to adopt the Pact for the Future, which will include a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations as annexes.
