Alyana Almenar

Alyana Almenar is the Membership and Communications Associate at the Bay Area Global Health Alliance. She started working with the Alliance in 2022 as the Global Health Communications Intern before transitioning into her current role.

She earned her Master of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley in the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Program and her Bachelor of Science and Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, with a certificate in Social Inequality, Health and Policy.

Her previous experience includes working as a clinical assistant at The Johnson Center for Child Health and Development and in an evaluations role with SisterWeb San Francisco Community Doula Network.

She is dedicated to advancing health equity for maternal, child, and infant health populations and working to address the disparities that lead to adverse health outcomes for women and children worldwide. Additionally, she is passionate about advocating for sexual and reproductive health rights, with research experience understanding the role of women’s empowerment on improving SRH outcomes.
