On February 15, the Alliance hosted a meeting marking the third anniversary of the formation of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tech Task Force. Representatives from Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon and other tech companies joined Alliance members for networking and short presentations by Andy Pattison, Team Lead Digital Channels, WHO and his esteemed WHO colleagues, Drs. Ruediger Krech, Director, Health Promotion and Vinayak Prasad, Program Manager.

The presenters provided informative updates on the WHO’s work on health promotion, tobacco cessation, humanitarian emergencies, digital communications, and the collaborative work of the WHO Tech Task Force. The Alliance is grateful for the collaborative spirit of the tech companies coming together to advance global health with the Tech Task Force and are honored to serve as the group’s secretariat. On Thursday, February 16, the Alliance also arranged for Pattison to meet with academic members and graduate students while he was in the Bay Area.
