The Alliance congratulates our Deputy Director Abbey Kocan for her selection as an emerging leader as part of WomenLift Health’s sixth North America Cohort of the Leadership Journey, a fully-funded leadership initiative designed to support women through the challenges and opportunities of advancing to senior leadership positions in global health.
Alliance board member Michele Barry, Stanford, is a founder of WomenLift, an organization committed to expanding the power and influence of talented women in global health and catalyzing systemic change to achieve gender equality in leadership. Despite women representing 70% of the health workforce, they are an untapped and underutilized talent pool, filling only 25% of senior leadership and 5% of top health organization positions.
Kocan is joined by more women leaders among our members: Stephanie Watson-Grant, JSI; Lisa Smith, PATH; Eileen Dunne, Pfizer; Elizabeth Kohlway, Sabin Vaccine Institute; Desiree LaBeaud and Lesley Park, Stanford; Sun Cotter, University of California Global Health Institute (UCGHI); Jessica Celentano, Lakshmi Gopalakrishnan, and Kelly Young, UCSF; Katy Ashe, YLabs; and Jennifer Guertin, Zenysis.
