The Tipping Point: A New Era for Global Health Leadership at UNGA 2025

September 22 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Join Global Health Corps and partners during the 2025 United Nations General Assembly for a high-level convening of African leaders, global partners, civil society, and youth visionaries. Together, we’ll reimagine global health through bold leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and the power of Africa’s rising generation.

This convening, co-hosted by The Access Challenge, Global Health Corps, the African Union, Africa CDC, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community, will spotlight how leadership, partnerships, and innovation can drive a new era of resilience in global health.

This event marks a turning point. As global health systems face unprecedented challenges—from climate-driven crises to shrinking aid—Africa’s young population holds the key to a new era of leadership and innovation. This gathering will spotlight how leadership, strategic partnerships, and private-sector ingenuity can turn today’s health challenges into a launchpad for lasting resilience.

Speakers include:

  • H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Former President of Tanzania
  • H.E. Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director General, Africa CDC
  • H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Former President of Liberia
  • H.E. Amb. Amma Twum-Amoah, Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs, and Social Development, African Union Commission
