Connecting for innovation and impact for all in global health

Join the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM PT at Mission Hall, Room 3500, or via Zoom, for a compelling talk by David McIver, PhD. Dr. McIver will present new research linking human-driven land use change to the emergence and evolution of Zaire ebolavirus and Sudan ebolavirus.
Through phylogeographic analysis, Dr. McIver traces the historical origins of these viruses and explores how landscape fragmentation has fueled viral divergence, adaptation, and increased spillover risk. This event is open to all, and accommodations are available upon request.
