Big Aid is Over – What’s Next for Doers and Donors?

As INGOs strive to stabilize amidst downsizing, and foundations reconsider funding strategies, Kevin Starr’s Stanford Social Innovation Review article, “Big Aid is Over,” argues that development solutions in the Global South must be designed for what governments can and will pay for themselves. Through the seismic loss in foreign aid and our collective grief, Kevin advocates for a shift in strategy that may be the only practical way to sustainably scale solutions, particularly in African countries.
