Adapting Facilities and Services: Treating Heat-Related Illnesses in Pregnant Women and Children

July 29 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 pm

This webinar will focus on adapting facilities and services to treat heat-related illnesses in pregnant women and children, an essential step in minimizing the impact of heat stress on vulnerable populations. Frontline workers and healthcare providers must be able to recognize symptoms, diagnose quickly, take urgent action, and deliver appropriate treatment in both community and healthcare settings.

Speakers will share real-world examples from the Governments of India and Bangladesh on establishing systems to reduce the impact of extreme heat, along with insights from the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education and Harvard University on training and research to better prepare healthcare providers. It is the second in a three-part series on the child health impacts of extreme heat, organized by the Children’s Environmental Health Collaborative, UNICEF, and the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN).
