UNGA 80 and Climate Week | Alliance Members Gather in NYC to Shape a Resilient Future for Global Health

Sep 10, 2025

In September 2025, amid a year of pivotal shifts in global health, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will convene in New York City to reinvigorate and reaffirm a global commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, emphasizing collective action for people and the planet. Marking its 80th anniversary, UNGA 80 will highlight the UN’s achievements over the past eight decades while charting a path toward a more inclusive and responsive multilateral system.

The high-level agenda will commemorate the 30th anniversaries of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the World Programme of Action for Youth, focused on advancing gender equality, strengthening intergenerational partnerships, and renewing commitments to global youth. Leaders will also convene a high-level meeting to adopt a new and achievable political declaration on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and the promotion of mental health and well-being through 2030 and beyond.

In parallel, Climate Week will bring together leaders from business, technology, politics, academia, and civil society for a series of world-leading events to accelerate climate action, showcase sustainable solutions, and build bridges between policy and implementation.

Alongside these major gatherings, a variety of marquee events will take place throughout New York City, including the Clinton Global Initiative 2025 Annual Meeting, Concordia Annual Summit 2025, Goalkeepers New York City 2025, SDG Media Zone, Devex @ UNGA 80, Foreign Policy @UNGA 80 | The Dialogue Defining What’s Next, and more.
